New Home PC

Upgraded from my old dual PIII 733 system this weekend. It was a good system for my dev work over the last 4 years or so, but it had to be put out to pasture. I swear this had nothing to do with Doom 3...OK, maybe a little. Anyway, this is what my buddy Tom over at Wonder Interactive threw together for me:
  • Pentium 4 3.2 GHz w/ Hyperthreading
  • 2 GB Patriot DDR Memory
  • ABIT Motherboard w/ built-in LAN & 6 channel audio, plus 6SATA
  • 2 Maxtor 250GB drives running RAID 0 for a grand total of 1/2 terrabyte of storage space.
  • nVidia 6800 256MB Graphics (oh baby!)
  • Sony DVD 2-layer burner
  • 5.1 surround system (bare bones)
  • Viewsonic 20" flat DVI @ 16ms
  • Nice case w/ good power supply and lots of fans
  • Many firewire and USB ports
  • Floppy w/ integrated memory card reader (for my digital cam)
  • A free bowl of soup with the hat

Digg!
